Founded in 2003 by Tom and Gill Mellor, Wold Top Brewery is based high in the Yorkshire woods. A family run brewery, Wold Top prides itself in brewing quality beer from home grown barley and water that is gently filtered by the chalk of the Yorkshire Wolds. They believe in using traditional methods and recipes as it helps in developing ales with real character.

At the London Beer Competition, held in March 2018, Wold Top Brewery’s beer Wold Gold was awarded with two medals. The two awards won by the beer were:

Silver Medal: Wold Gold was scored 80 points by the judges on three criterias of quality, value and packaging.

Best in Show: The beer was also awarded the Best in Show award for being the best beer from United Kingdom.

The Wold Gold beer is continental style beer with a soft, fruity flavour with a hint of spice. It contains a heady mix of Wold grown barley, wheat and cara malt hopped with Goldings and Styrian hops which give the beer its fruity flavour.
