Renegade Brewery: Crafting the Future of Beer with Sustainability and Inclusivity

Discover how Renegade Brewery blends tradition and innovation to craft gluten-free, vegan beers with a focus on sustainability and inclusivity

Renegade Brewery, an independently brewed craft beer brand, was born from the ashes of West Berkshire Brewery, a local institution established in 1995. While West Berkshire Brewery may have closed its doors, Renegade seized the opportunity to breathe new life into the site and its brewing legacy. Now, three years later, Renegade Brewery continues to craft beers that not only honor traditional brewing methods but also push the boundaries with forward-thinking processes and a strong focus on inclusivity, sustainability, and diversity.

Carrying Forward a Legacy and Crafting the Future

Renegade was born out of the unfortunate fall of West Berkshire Brewery, allowing them to keep the heritage ales and fan favorites while experimenting with new processes and ingredients. This combination of traditional and modern approaches has enabled Renegade to carve out a unique space in the competitive craft beer market. The brewery now focuses on creating gluten-free, vegan-friendly beers, with a commitment to sustainability driving every decision they make.

Crafting with Inclusivity, Sustainability, and Diversity in Mind

At the heart of Renegade Brewery’s ethos is a dedication to inclusivity and sustainability. Their approach to brewing reflects a desire to offer something for everyone, from gluten-free and vegan beers to low-alcohol options. To maintain the highest quality, Renegade has adopted innovative practices like PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) testing to ensure their products are free from spoilage and secondary fermentation. The system used provides the specificity and sensitivity of PCR-based amplification in a cost-efficient and easy-to-use format. This advanced method allows them to have complete control over the brewing process, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch.

Looking Ahead: A Seasonal Calendar and Collaborations

As Renegade Brewery looks to the future, the establishment hints at exciting new projects on the horizon. For 2025, Renegade Brewery is working on a seasonal calendar that will showcase British ingredients within beer, while exploring different styles and potentially collaborating with other notable establishments and personalities in the industry. This focus on British ingredients ties into their commitment to sustainability, and the potential collaborations will help broaden the brewery’s appeal even further.

Plans for Growth: From Local to Global

While Renegade Brewery remains grounded in its local roots, the team has ambitious plans for expansion, hoping to grow from local trade to global opportunities. Although there is no set agenda for which countries to expand into just yet, Renegade’s unique blend of heritage, innovation, and inclusivity makes them well-positioned for international success.

Renegade Brewery’s story is one of resilience, creativity, and dedication to the craft. By blending traditional brewing methods with cutting-edge techniques and a strong focus on sustainability, they are not only preserving the legacy of West Berkshire Brewery but also paving the way for the future of craft beer.
